During the summer months, the Guilford Food Bank is able to distribute more fresh vegetables and herbs because there is a garden planted specifically for the GFB at the Community Garden located at the Medad Tavern.  Also, many residents grow extra in their gardens for the GFB.

Project Sustainability

Every year in May, North Guilford Nurseries and Cowpots holds an event distributing vegetable seedlings  free of charge to each person whom attends.  In return, they ask each participant to donate half of their harvest from those seedlings to the Guilford Food Bank.
